Climate Change
Addressing climate change is my greatest mission and the cause I am most devoted to.
From interviewing local recycling staff in Korea to funding an environmental awareness film, I have taken active steps to raise awareness about this urgent issue.
Since elementary school, I have spent summers volunteering in flood-affected areas with my family. In 2022, I joined the Seoul Student Climate Action organization, where we host an annual film festival to raise awareness about climate change. We watch documentaries and discuss ways to address the crisis. I also helped produce the environmental film Seagnal: The Ocean’s Last Call.
Participating in the Greenpeace Environmental Awareness Fair was a transformative experience, deepening my commitment to creating meaningful change.
I am determined to continue advocating for sustainable practices and inspiring others to join me in the fight against climate change.
Climate Change
My passion for addressing climate change began when I first noticed how much waste was generated in my community and how little of it was properly recycled. I became curious about what happens to trash and how it impacts the environment, which led me to interview local recycling staff to learn more about the challenges they face.
What I discovered was eye-opening—so much recyclable material ends up in landfills because of improper sorting or lack of awareness. This inspired me to take action, from funding an environmental awareness film to participating in the Greenpeace Environmental Awareness Fair.
These experiences showed me that tackling climate change isn’t just about grand gestures; it’s about educating people and encouraging everyday actions like recycling. I believe we have a responsibility to protect the planet, and I’m determined to continue doing my part to create a more sustainable future.

Zoom Interview With Environmental
Film Director Flore Vasseur
World Youth Forum On Climate Crisis (SIEFF)
I am an active member of the Seoul Student Climate Action organization, where I work with other students to raise awareness about environmental issues. Each year, our group participates in an international environmental film festival that runs for five days. We screen documentaries that highlight pressing environmental concerns, and after each screening, students, including myself, take on the role of presenters. We lead forums to discuss the issues raised in the films, emphasize their urgency, and engage in Q&A sessions with the audience.
One of my most memorable experiences was in June 2022, when I participated in a forum for the documentary Bigger Than Us and had the opportunity to connect with the film's director, Flore Vasseur, via Zoom. I believe campaigns like this are a crucial first step in helping more people recognize the seriousness of environmental issues and inspiring them to take action.

Interview With
Local Recycling Worker
in Korea

Interview Video
When I interviewed a local recycling staff member in Korea, I learned so much about what really happens behind the scenes with waste management. I asked how many times they recycle in a day, and I was surprised to hear how overwhelming the workload can be, especially in areas where people don’t sort their waste properly.
I also learned that while many people try to recycle, a lot of items end up in the wrong bins, which makes the process much harder and less effective. The staff member shared the challenges they face, from dealing with contamination in recyclables to a lack of public understanding about proper recycling practices.
This interview really opened my eyes to how small, thoughtful actions—like rinsing out containers or sorting items correctly—can make a big difference. It made me even more determined to raise awareness about how we can all contribute to solving this issue.

Their stories of dealing with overwhelming amounts of ocean waste while trying to preserve their centuries-old way of life deeply moved me. Supporting the project allowed me to contribute to raising awareness about the devastating effects of marine debris, and seeing my name in the ending credits was a proud moment. It reminded me that even small actions can help shed light on important environmental issues.
